What GD song/s would you like played at your funeral that best describes your life. My choice would be Brokedown Palace or Weather Report Suite w/out Let it Grow.

I can't believe no one has yet to mention Sugaree. Please play the Sugaree opener from Lake Placid, 1983, when you burn me. Burn some 420 while you're at it. Jerry sings the best I've heard on this one, and the band plays it well.

When they come to take you down
When they bring that wagon 'round
When they come to call on you
And drag your poor body down

Just one thing I ask of you,
Just one thing for me
Please forget you knew my name,
My darling Sugaree

Shake it, shake it sugaree,
Just don't tell them that you know me
Shake it, shake it sugaree,
Just don't tell them that you know me

There is a recording out there, sometimes called Knockin' on Heaven's Door, which is reportedly the final recording session that Jerry had, with a similar feel to the Pizza Tapes.

Anyway, Jerry flubs the lyrics of House of the Rising Sun, and there's an amazing Knockin' recorded here.

I find the recording simply amazing, moving and so full of pathos that I can't listen often. It's truly as if even though he's enjoying himself, from this perspective, he knows what's coming.

Not to mention, the Stones' "You can't always get what you want." which needs to be discredited because of it's association with "The Big Chill." (credits go to Nick Hornby and the most awesome book/movie High Fidelity...

How 'bout We bid you goodnight, or the closing to the Beatles White album, a personal favorite, Good Night...

Now it's time to say good night
Good night Sleep tight
Now the sun turns out his light
Good night Sleep tight
Dream sweet dreams for me
Dream sweet dreams for you.

Close your eyes and I'll close mine
Good night Sleep tight
Now the moon begins to shine
Good night Sleep tight
Dream sweet dreams for me
Dream sweet dreams for you.

Close your eyes and I'll close mine
Good night Sleep tight
Now the sun turns out his light
Good night Sleep tight
Dream sweet dreams for me
Dream sweet dreams for you.

Good night Good night Everybody
Everybody everywhere
Good night.
